We look forward to seeing more work from her "career" and let's see how long she can last building up her "OWN" fame.
Getting to know the real Makiin, this rising star from West Palm Beach has definitely been making moves lately. She first caught our attention freestyling in a Cypher with down south artist, and we were truly surprised. Makiin was the only female emcee, and murdered her freestyle. As seen on Fuse, we can say she is a true talent and has what it takes to make it to the top. We'll continue to follow her success and keep you updated on this rising star as well!
To become more familiar, we had a chance to interview Makiin herself! Check it out below:
The Shootin Starz: Where did 'Makiin' come from? Makiin:Makiin was a nickname given to me by an ex. It was originally "Makin" but after the break up i kept the name and added the extra "i" lol
The Shootin Starz:What sparked your interest in becoming a Rap artist? Makiin: I used to live in Roatan Honduras. I got together with a Reggaeton group called "King Squad" and linked with the producer "Krazzy" (RIP baby) and he started writing hooks and small verse for me and kinda just forced me into being an "Artist." Rapping didnt happen for me til i moved back home and linked with some boys from highschool who rapped.
The Shootin Starz: How long have you been rapping? Makiin: I've been doing it since 2006.
The Shootin Starz:Who in the rap game do you admire? Makiin: Well there's two favorites for two different reasons. Eminem is my favorite male. I love everything about the way he raps. I simulate it into my own music as well, if you couldnt tell! LOL His creativity with his music is inspiring in itself and besides him being white and over coming the bullshxt in the industry, he used humor and would slam himself in his own music and freestyles and earned his respect that way. And then there's Missy. That's my BXTCH!! lol She's just amazing in every way possible. I truly admire her, she would be my dream collab!
The Shootin Starz:Where did your inspiration come from for the mixtape? Makiin: Well "Makiin Noise" was kinda misinterpretated by everybody. Alot of people who copped my mixtape were disappointed in all the collabs. They said "There's not enough Makiin!" I did it that way for a reason though. I wanted to do as many collabs as i could so i could work with all the talent i support in my county, that way i could focus all my singles solely on just "Makiin." I named it "Makiin Noise" because i wanted everyone to see all the talent that Palm Beach has to offer and with 19 features, i def "Made Noise" in the county!
The Shootin Starz:How long did it take you to record your mixtape? Makiin: The whole process took about a month tho. "Makiin Noise" was quick and painless
The Shootin Starz:How do you feel when people compare you to other women in the game?Ex: Iggy Azalea Makiin:Hmmmm That's a question that i will probably get asked in every interview. LOL I've already had blogs written about me saying im "jockin Iggy & Azealia Banks." I had to just laugh at those accusations because i've been doing this too long. They were both irrelevant til this year and I've been goin at it for 6 so.... BUT I do support most Femcees; black, white, purple, yellow, whatever; if you're good, if you go hard and if you made it for the "right reasons" i will support you. There are a few (not mentioning names here) that i dont really fxck with but hey if they're making money and living their life, thats not my business nor my concern, all i can say is watch out cuz i will be in that starting line up real soon!
The Shootin Starz: What are your plans for this year? Makiin: Double the shows, Double the singles, Double the visuals. Make quality music that'll withstand the weight in the industry. I've already signed with a new management label out of Brooklyn and they've already gotten pick up by Sony so it's on! It's all about hard work, Staying Humble, and By the Grace of God keeping faith and staying motivated! You gotta want to make it as bad as you want to breathe and I'm ready for the challenge!
The Shootin Starz: Anything else you'd like to add? Makiin: I just want to thank Shootin Starz and you lovely ladies for the opportunity to be on your blog, & also #TeamMakiin i fxckin Love you!!!

Drama has DEFINETELY been in the air since the first episode of Love & Hip Hop aired. If you didn't watch, scroll down to read our recap below. One of the women on the show, K.Michelle, an up and coming R&B artist spoke briefly on how her ex boyfriend abused her and used her $2 Million recording contract to buy jewels for himself. She said no names, but everyone knew she was talking about Memphitz who just so happens to be married now. His wife, Toya spoke out indirectly earlier this week when she posted a picture of her and her hubby on Instagram with the caption "Fuck what you heard". Memphitz just couldn't let by gones be by gones, and in typical fashion he went to Instagram as well to take a jab at his ex girlfriend.
What happened to the days when people would handle things personally and not over the internet?? They seem long gone if you ask me. There's nothing more that bothers me than people who have the audacity to say to another person "I made you", in the words of HOV if you 'MADE' them, make another one of them! Nobody MADE someone but their momma and Daddy! This just keeps getting more and more interesting.... *grabs popcorn*
With many teams dropping out of the Finals fans who were Against the Heat DIDN'T HAVE ANY OTHER TEAM TO RUN TO so ended up pulling for the young team OKC it was the Miami Heat who came through winning Games 2-5 after OKC took the win in Game 1.
With the Final score of 121-106 The Heat takes home the Championship in Game 5.
Last night was history in the making for, Lebron James, after 9 years of playing since his draft he FINALLY received his First ring.
Miami Heat came out with a BANG from the beginning to the end. It was the 3rd quarter that got a LITTLE close but after a timeout and a prep talk, the Heat were back on the boards. Mike Miller showing out in the Right game at the Right time, seven being 3's, ended up with 23points. (Teaching the kids) Lebron REALLY wanted the Ship the way he played, Nonstop, Playing with OKC at the end of the game. The starting five ALL had double digits which concluded to their success.
Even though EVERYone doubted his success and wanted to see him #Fail after leaving Cleveland, he had to do what was best for him. Through all his trials & tribulations, loosing last year HUMBLED him this year. (Turning his Failure into Success) Congrats Lebron for winning your FIRST ring and many more to come.
During his talk with the press, LeBron told media that he learned how to humble himself this year both on and off the court saying:
"It means everything.I made a difficult decision to leave Cleveland. But understood what my future was about. And understood that coming to Miami and we had a bright future. This is a dream come true for me.I've been through a lot in the past 2 years."
Congrats to Dwayne Wade earning his second ring, and to Chris Bosh, Mike Miller, Mario Chalmers, and Shane Battier (and the rest of the team) who received their FIRST ring.
We are REALLY excited for the Heat and what they brought to the table. With ALLL the negative talk and things people say, THE HEAT ARE THE 2012 NBA FINALS CHAMPIONS
Hope everyone' having a great day, especially the Miami Heat fans! After that amazing victory last night today's Mornin Wood is the sexy Dwyane Wade...ENJOY LADIES!
I hope everyone is having a GREAT & SUCCESFUL afternoon! Fellas we've chosen someone Sexy & curvacious for this Afternoons Eyecandy. She came in the game wanting to be a rapper, however, with that (not) being her calling she decided to take her amazing looks and became a well known Vixen.
Our eyecandy of the day is:
Keyshia Dior:
I'm in love with her one of a kind haircut that many women can't pull off. She's not like other ladies who become a vixen and stay there. In 2011, she launched her Lipstick Brand KA`OIR which as of 2012 she's been VERY Successful. As you may have recently seen she still pops up in some videos, but you can't knock her hustle! She truly turned from a vixen to a CEO of her own company! Kudos!
The season premiere of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta was anything short of drama filled! Before we re-cap on how the show went and our thoughts lets make sure you are familiar with the cast. Check out the super trailer below.
For those uninterested in watching the trailer here's a brief review of the cast.
Mimi: Stevie J, a R&B artists girlfriend
K.Michelle: Up and coming R&B artist
Raheeda: Rapper who is managed by her husband
Joseline: Up and coming singer as well who is managed by Stevie J (he's his sideline...MESSY!)
Erica: Scrappy's girl on and off for 10 years, they are together now after Diamond left him.
Momma D: Scrappy's Mom, SHE CRAZY!
At first we meet recording artist Stevie J and his girlfriend Mimi. The show begins with them driving outside the city of Atlanta. He presents a house that he is planning to buy for her, at first you would think any female would be happy to have their boyfriend buying them a two-story dream house however there is more to this than meets the eye. We learn this is more of a "hush" gift for Mimi, he really wants her to move out city while he stays in the city and does his trickin off on his many different sidelines! He continously says I got this for YOU to Mimi and not US, he's a typical example of how you can hold a man down for YEARS and when he blows up he forgets all bout that. They've been together for 15 years and have a two year old daughter and he still treats her as if there relationship is on a high school level or something!
Then we meet Erica, she's been dating Lil Scrappy on and off for about ten years. He blew up and was on to the next chick who we've known him to be with these past years, Diamond. When things went sour for Diamond and Scrappy he came running back to Erica like a little puppy and of course she took him back. We wonder if this is REAL or is it just something for him to do when there's nothing to do? Basically is he using the girl thats held him down as a rebound from his relationship with Diamond. When Erica asks Scrappy "Do you think you would be here if Diamond wasn't with Solja Boy" he doesn't even answer the question directly!
Next up on the list was K.Michelle singing on the sharpest key we ever heard in life! She touched on the fact of her ex boyfriend, who happens to be Toya (Wayne's ex wife) new hubby! She says that they had a great relationship until he beat her ass one night! No one cared, they just wanted her to "shut up and make music". She even says he spent her 2 MILLION dollar recording budget on jewelry, clothes, everything with that and she didn't see none of it!
Then there's Joseline, ex stripper, Stevie J's artist and sideline. They have NO problem exposing this relationship to the world! I just don't get it! Where is the respect for his WOMAN Mimi? She says "He is everything to me, and its not just about the sex' BLATANTLY, this relationship is truly disgusting. When they went to lunch to meet a postential new client for Stevie J they were acting like a couple it really didn't make sense. He completely crossed the line the night of K.Michelle's dinner when he SHOWED UP with the sideline, told his WOMAN to say hi to her, THEN after they got into an argument about it he STILL left wit Joseline! We have NO respect for him or men like him!
When we meet Scrappy's mom we see where he gets his personality from...his momma CRAZYY! She used to be a pimp and sell dope on the side back in the day and she'll have random outbursts where she just goes crazy. She makes for good TV.
We'll definetely be tuned in to watch every Monday at 8...Will you?
**SHOOT FOR THE STARZ**
